Kay Carrico, owner of In-Compasse International, has been helping companies compete in global markets for more than 25 years. In addition to her experience as an international trade consultant she is also a registered Exim (Export Import) Bank broker.
Her vast experience in international trade includes several years working for the Michigan Economic Development Corporation as a trade specialist. She was co-located in the Pontiac Export Assistance Center where she worked closely with representatives of the U.S. & Foreign Commercial Service of the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Import Bank, and the Small Business Administration. She has also worked with private sector insurers and financial institutions when traditional means were not available.
Kay has traveled extensively, lived in the U.K. and Spain. She has also gained important first-hand experience in two major commercial and cultural capitals of Western Europe. A firm believer in the power of partnerships, Kay has been involved in leadership positions in several non-governmental organizations which include the Council of International Visitors (supported by the U.S. Department of State), Organization of Women in International Trade (OWIT), Women Impacting Public Policy (WIPP) and the Sister Cities Organization.
Kay frequently teams up with other trade professionals in conducting export-awareness and export-empowerment events. She was an export coach for Export-Tech provided by the New Mexico Manufacturing Extension Partnership. She also devised and presented an export series, Go Global with NAWBO, targeting women business owners.
A sought-after public speaker and avid net worker, Kay has chaired several televised political debates in New Mexico.
